CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY

Players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators are to conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates respect to other players, coaches, officials, parents spectators and fans. In becoming a member of this organization an individual assumes certain obligations and responsibilities to the organization and its participants. The essential elements in this Code of Conduct are HONESTY and INTEGRITY. Those who conduct themselves in a manner that reflects these elements will bring credit to themselves, their team and their organization. It is only through such conduct that our organization can continue to earn and maintain a positive image and make its full contribution to our sport and community.

The following essential elements of the Code of Conduct must be followed:

• Sportsmanship and teaching the concepts of fair play are essential to the game and must be taught at all levels and developed both at home and on the field during practices and games.

• The value of good sportsmanship, the concepts of fair play and the skills for the game should always be placed above winning.

• The safety and welfare of the players are of primary importance

• Players should always demonstrate positive behavior and respect toward teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, parents and spectators.

• Coaches, players, parents and spectators are expected to demonstrate the utmost respect for officials and reinforce that respect to players/teammates.

• Grievances or misunderstandings between coaches, officials or any other parties involved with the organization should be communicated through the proper channels and procedures, never on or about the field of play in view of spectators or participants.

• Spectators involved with the game must never permit anyone to openly or maliciously criticize, badger, harass or threaten an official, coach, player or opponent.

• Eligibility requirements, at all levels of the game, must be followed. Rules and requirements such as age, previous level of participation, team transfers, etc, have been established to encourage and maximize participation, fair play and to promote safety.

VOLUNTEER POLICY

Policy applies to Brookfield Lacrosse Association (BLA) players and families.

Volunteer Requirements:

Brookfield Lacrosse is a volunteer-run youth sports program. We are dependent on parents to help us in every aspect of the organization. To share the burden, we follow a volunteer policy.

You are required to complete a minimum of 4 volunteer hours for each registered player. Depending on the size of your player's team, additional help may be required to make the season run smoothly.‍ ‍

If you did not complete your required hours based on the number of children in BLA, you will be charged $250 at the end of the current season.

There are many opportunities to earn your required hours. Some options: primarily with our Brookfield Charity Classic, soliciting for sponsor and monetary donations, practice field set up and take down, field lining, helping with team photos or uniforms, helping board members, etc. If you are concerned about reaching your hours, reach out to a Board Member. We always have things on our “to do” list with which you can assist to meet your hours.

Enough hours will be made available to your team for each family to meet at least the 4 hours. If your family has not completed the required number of hours by the last day of the season, you will be charged $250. No partial payments will be made.

REFUND POLICY

No refunds will be given for voluntary withdrawal from a program after March 4, 2026.

Medically Necessary Withdrawals: If a player is medically unable to begin or complete the season, a recommendation from his/her physician will supersede the March 4, 2026 deadline and allow the issuance of a pro-rated refund.

Refund Request Process:

To request a refund, please submit the request via e-mail to the BLA President and/or your Program Director.

The request must be submitted prior to March 4, 2026.

A confirmation of the request will be sent to the e-mail from which the request was received.

Voluntary withdraw refunds will be processed within in 30 days of receipt.

Brookfield Lacrosse has no control over any fees paid by you to US Lacrosse. We also have no control over any purchases you made for uniforms or spirit wear from third party vendors. Therefore, we cannot refund those fees or purchases.

Method of Reimbursement:

A credit will be issued back to the credit card used during the registration process if request is made less than 90 days after registration. If greater than 90 days, a refund check will be mailed to the address listed on the player’s account at registration. The Program Treasurer will confirm via email when the refund has been initiated.
