Back to top | | | Memorial Day Parade...We are still on! by
posted 05/23/2013 BLA is still planning on marching in the parade. We will have flyer and candy to pass out to kids. I am looking to find out who is planning on coming. Could you please email me directly with your child's name and which team they are on. We would love to have girls and boys from every level.
Below are the official details:
Dear 2013 Elm Grove Memorial Day Parade Participant:
Thank you for agreeing to participate in the 66th Annual Elm Grove Memorial Day Parade! Attached please find parade rules and a map of the parade route, drop-off and staging areas.
The morning of the parade, please proceed directly to the check-in table near the pool house at Village Park to receive your lot assignment - then proceed to your assigned lot. Junior Guild volunteers will be on hand to assist you. Please share the following information with all members of your group:
Parade Date: Monday, May 27th, 2013
Parade Theme: Honoring Our True American Heroes
Parade Start Time: 10:30 a.m.
BLA will be meeting in front of Tonawanda Elementary @ 9:15. We will gather there and then walk over to our designated starting position in the parade. Please bring your stick and wear your jersey. I will have balls for kids to toss and or cradle and walk with.
As in the past, the 1.2 mile parade route will begin at the Village Park and end at Wall Street off of Elm Grove Road. Unless your vehicle is part of your act, there will be NO PARKING available at Village Park. There will be parking available at the end of the parade route in the lots behind the Park and Shop. This leaves your vehicle at the end of the parade route for an easy exit.
We will be listing parade acts in order of appearance on the program, but the order is subject to change. Make sure to have a sign or banner that identifies your group to the crowd. We encourage all participants to be creative and get into the spirit of the day – honoring our veterans.
The Parade has been cancelled only twice in its 66 year history. If in doubt, please listen to WZTR (95.7 FM) for information on cancellations.
Keep in mind, Memorial Day can be HOT! Please wear sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes and bring plenty of water for all participants. Participants will be waiting in the staging area and then marching on asphalt for a significant amount of time. Please come prepared!
PLEASE EMAIL MONIQUE AT
and let me know if your child is walking in the parade. Parents are welcome to walk as well. We want to make sure we are well represented. Back to top | | | Royal Select Still has Openings for this Summer by
